Mölndals stadsmuseum is a cultural-history museum in Kvarnbyn, Mölndal, beside the rapids in an old industrial district. Its permanent and temporary exhibitions cover everyday objects, local furniture and current themes, with things for children and adults to explore together.

In “Öppna magasinet” (“The Open Storehouse”), familiar household objects appear alongside photographs and stories. Visitors can touch, listen to and smell objects, rather than only viewing them behind glass. “Lyx från Lindome” (“Luxury from Lindome”) displays chairs and furniture from the 18th to 20th centuries, including old chairs upholstered in modern fabrics. The museum also has a temporary exhibition alongside its permanent displays.

Admission is free, and the museum says it is open year-round. It is in a building that was once a stocking factory. The museum also has a shop and Forscaféet, where visitors can buy lunch and fika. From central Mölndal, the walk to the museum takes about 15 minutes. The museum says Mölndal is easy to reach from Gothenburg by bus, train or tram.
