Färjenäsparken is a city park between the Älvsborgsbron bridge and the Eriksbergskranen gantry crane, on the site of the first Gothenburg, dating from 1607. It has walking paths, play areas and facilities for several kinds of activity. The park includes one of Hisingen’s largest playgrounds, an outdoor classroom and a 1,400-metre exercise track. There is also a football field, a skate park and a court for street basketball.

Visitors can use the paths for a walk or the 1,400-metre track for exercise. The playground provides a place for play, while people can use the football field, skate park or street-basketball court for sport. Viewing and picnic areas provide places to stop. The range of facilities lets a visit centre on exercise, play or a picnic, rather than one single attraction. The park is described as a well-visited city park.

The park’s expansion formed part of Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary and followed ideas and wishes from Gothenburg residents.
