Tjuvön is a peninsula just northeast of Mellanfjärden. The walk described on the local site starts at Sundsbovallen, a former summer farm about 1 kilometre north of Mellanfjärden. Two of its original 13 cottages remain. The site says the farm’s activity ended in the late 1940s.
From Sundsbovallen, follow a trail northeast for about 200 metres, then take another trail to the right. After about 300 metres it reaches the sea. Turn right towards the southwest and climb the rocky ridge. The route crosses smooth rock slabs among twisted pines; from the top, the site describes views over the Bothnian Sea and the islands of Gran, Vitörarna and Jättholmarna.
Continue east down to the shore, where the site describes broad, smooth slabs of rock and a small coastal meadow. One option is to return northwest through the forest to Sundsbovallen. Another is to continue south towards Ramsviken, which the site says is gradually becoming a small lake as the land rises. The article also describes walking destinations at Rödberget and Sörudden in the peninsula’s southwest. It says Tjuvön was an island about 1,000 years ago, before land uplift closed the channel to the mainland.
