Vettberget is a hill with a well-preserved ancient fortification. In a cave-like crevice in the rock is a very old carving shaped like a footprint. The site’s description says it may be about 3,000 years old. From the hill, visitors can see the Gulf of Bothnia and nearby Lunnsjön, as well as old pine trees. Lunnsjön has a sandy beach suitable for swimming. The marked trail also follows part of the lake’s north-eastern shore, near a small rich fen where two-leaf and moss orchids grow.
From Gnarp, drive towards Sörfjärden for about 4 km and turn right at Milsbro, just before the bridge over Gnarpsån. After about 200 metres, park below the road barrier. Walk about 200 metres along the road, then take the marked trail to the left for about 2 km to the hill.
There is another approach from Jättendal: drive towards Hårte and turn north onto the forest road about 2 km before Hårte. After about 4 km, park beside the road and follow the marked trail uphill for about 1 km. On the way back, the path to Lunnsjön’s sandy beach is about 150 metres from the forest road, after less than 1 km along it.
