Children can play around Styrbjörn, a locomotive that generations of children from Sandviken have used as a play structure. Sandviken’s ironworks donated it to Högbo Bruk’s playground after it was retired in 1960. In the middle of the playground, Sigrid’s Cottage offers an indoor place to eat a packed lunch, warm a bottle in a microwave and use the toilet. It has tables for several families, and information about animals in the small-animal park is displayed on the other side of the wall.

This November, Högbo’s winter activities include cross-country skiing on artificial-snow and natural-snow tracks. The large sledding hill is used after snowfall. Nearby are the small-animal park, lawns, fika and a 12-hole mini-golf course. In summer, the nearby beach has shallow water, jetties, a sandbox and changing rooms; there is also a beach-volleyball court, and visitors need to bring their own ball. Mini-golf clubs and balls can be rented at Högbo Qvarn during the summer half-year.

Sigrid’s Cottage is listed as open every day from 07:00 to 16:00. For the “Five in a Row” game, print a game card or collect one at Gårdshandeln or the kiosk, and bring a pen.
