When Swedish tennis star Stefan Edberg in 1992 - on his way to his second consecutive title in US Open - knocked out American Michael Chang in the semifinal after a 5-hour and 26-minute thriller, it became the Grand Slam tournament's longest match in history. That record has now been broken.
