It was after the match between Polish Kamil Majchrzak and Russian Karen Chatjanov that the CEO was filmed when he took a signed cap from Majchrzak in front of a child. The clip then shows how the man quickly puts the cap in a woman's bag and the young boy becomes noticeably disappointed.
Now the man, who is the CEO of a Polish company, apologizes for his actions.
"I understand that what I did can be perceived as if I deliberately took a souvenir from a child. It was never my intention, but I realize that I have hurt the boy and disappointed the fans", he writes on his Instagram account.
The businessman writes that he thought the cap was on its way in his direction.
"I want to express my sincere apology to the boy, his family, all fans and the player himself."
Majchrzak later shared a video on Instagram where he met the boy and gave him, among other things, a new cap.
"Today after warm-up I had a nice meeting. Do you recognize the cap?", Majchrzak wrote in a post that is now gone.
