Academic Hospital in Uppsala has discovered eleven additional cases where women have had their uterus incorrectly removed. A total of 44 cases have now been discovered by the hospital.

33 women have had their uterus unnecessarily removed at Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala during 2023 and 2024. "It shouldn't be able to happen, and yet it did", says chief physician Johan Lugnegård.
