Sweden's great star violinist Johan Dalene becomes the first recipient of Alfvén Society's newly established scholarship of 50,000 kronor. Dalene receives the prize for "having a natural sense of melodic beauty and a presence that touches and inspires, conveying music with a passion that reaches both heart and soul", as stated in the motivation, among other things.
