Denmark pushes law to deport foreign nationals sentenced to at least one year in prison
Foreign nationals in Denmark who are sentenced to at least one year in prison for a crime should be deportable, regardless of their ties to the country. The proposal, put forward by the government, may violate the European Convention on Human Rights. In Copenhagen, it is hoped the European Court of Human Rights will change its interpretation of the law.
