Jupiter's moons, frequent Northern Lights and a few supermoons. 2026 offers several interesting celestial phenomena. But by far the biggest event will be the solar eclipse in August. "It's an absolutely fantastic natural experience," says astronomer Peter Linde.
SwedenOn Sunday evening, the sky is adorned with a blood moon. The phenomenon is visible in Sweden approximately every other year when a full moon moves into the shadow behind the Earth in a lunar eclipse.
SwedenThe evening has come for the last of the year's three supermoons. You don't need to worry, though, if you miss tonight's moon, new opportunities will arise. It's not a particularly rare phenomenon, says Peter Linde, associate professor of astronomy and chairman of the Swedish Astronomical Society.
