Risky drinking more common among older couples, study finds

It is not older people who have become lonely who are at greatest risk for harmful alcohol consumption. On the contrary, risky drinking is more common among older people who live as couples, a new study shows. Many people were surprised by the results, says researcher Erika Boman.
