The methods and evidence in the investigations suggest that the same perpetrator or perpetrators may be involved in several of the cases.

The crimes reported to the police so far have been concentrated in Halland and Bohuslän, but organised gangs move quickly across municipal and county borders, and it is difficult to know in advance where they will turn up next.

Therefore, stay alert when you are in crowded places, and take steps to protect yourself from crime.

- Do not leave your valuables unattended.

- Keep a close eye on your belongings in crowded places – for example, in shops or on public transport.

- Carry your bag in front of you and do not put valuables in the outer pockets. 
Do not put valuables in a pram.

- If you are at a restaurant or café, do not hang your jacket containing valuables or your bag on the chair. It is better to put your bag on the floor between your feet.

- Put your wallet and mobile phone in an inside pocket, not a back pocket.

- Do not keep more money and cards in your wallet than you need.

- Avoid keeping your wallet, keys, ID and bank cards in the same place. If you have everything in one bag and it is stolen, it often causes major problems and costs.
