A pedestrian who stepped out into the roadway was hit by a passenger car and taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver did not have time to brake and stop the car before noticing the pedestrian in the road.

It is unclear why the pedestrian was in the road at the time of the accident. It was dark and difficult to see the pedestrian at the time of the accident. Another road user managed to brake for the pedestrian shortly before the accident.
