Police report

November 6, 10:59, Fraud, Stockholm County

· Source: Polisen

A man is in custody suspected of around ten aggravated frauds against older people, after posing as a flower delivery man.

Posing as a flower delivery man, he rang the doorbells of various older people and claimed that he needed to be paid for delivering the flowers. The perpetrator then entered the victims’ homes, including in Stockholm. When the victims handed over cash, the fraudster said that he was not allowed to accept cash and could only take payment by card.

The victims then fetched their cards and “tried” to make a card transaction, of course without success. The perpetrator then swapped the payment card for another victim’s payment card and left with the new victim’s card. The suspected fraudster then went to an ATM and withdrew as much money as possible.

The suspected man was later detained in his absence, and the prosecutor issued a Nordic arrest warrant, which led to the man later being arrested in Finland. He was extradited to Sweden and has been in custody since 1 November, suspected of aggravated fraud.
