Man arrested after attempted assault
At 22.00, police are alerted about some kind of disturbance at an address in Gnesta municipality. Initially, it is unclear exactly what happened. Later, information is received that someone may have broken into someone else's home and, according to reports, behaved threateningly with a weapon. It is then said to have become a disturbance on the scene and a glass window is reported to have been smashed. When the police arrive at the scene, the threatening man has left the house. The police then begin a search and, quite soon, they have found and identified the suspect. The man, who is in his 20s, is arrested on suspicion of attempted gross assault. He has since been detained.
Broken-down car in Eskilstuna
Shortly after midnight, police are informed about a vandalism incident that occurred on Norr in Eskilstuna. At a party in a local, someone or several people are said to have smashed the rearview mirrors and windshield of a car that was present at the scene. When the police arrive, the perpetrators have already left the scene. Witnesses have been interviewed and a report has been filed regarding vandalism.
Beaten man in the center
Around 02:30, police receive several calls about a fight outside in Eskilstuna city center where a person is said to be lying injured on the ground. When the police arrive, they find a man who is later taken to an ambulance. He is said to have been beaten and kicked. It is currently unknown to the police whether the man has suffered serious injuries. The police also quickly apprehend a person suspected of being involved in the incident. The man, who is in his 60s, is initially taken into custody for intoxication. He is later arrested on suspicion of gross assault.
Police have also handled cases related to intoxication and carried out various routine checks on their own initiative or in response to public alarm.
