
Explosion in Norrköping
04.44 alarm for SOS about a high bang on Ljuragatan in Norrköping.
A strong explosion has occurred where a door has been damaged, and in connection with that also windows on the ground floor.
Damage is found on both the first and second floors of the apartment building. There are also damages on cars near the house.
Police and emergency services have searched the relevant house to see if anyone is injured.
So far, there are reports of one person being injured and needing to be checked by an ambulance.
A cordon has been set up to keep unauthorized people away from the site.
Police are now working intensively to interview witnesses, gather information, investigate what exploded and why, and check and talk to people who may have seen or heard something.
Update 06.26: The explosion is being investigated as a case of mass destruction. There is currently no suspect or arrested.
To investigate what exploded, the National Bomb Squad has been called in. A technical examination of the site will be made during the morning. Police are continuing to work intensively to gather information about the incident by interviewing residents and witnesses, and for example, inventorying camera material.
Update 06.55: The injured person is a man in his 70s. The man was in an apartment and is not expected to have serious injuries.
Police have been in contact with the municipality, which has opened Ljuraskolan where residents can go.
