Three hundred thousand kronor disappear from an elderly woman's account.
A few days ago, a 75-year-old woman received an SMS telling her to return a rental car that she had not rented.
The police warn against calling back on phone numbers mentioned in unexpected SMS or emails, as it often involves scammers trying to get a possible victim on the hook. This applies even if it says a company or government agency name as the sender.
If you want to call back and check the information, you should yourself find a correct phone number from official sources, such as the company's website.
When the woman called back on the phone number, it was scammers who answered. They pretended to connect her to a bank, and the woman has since made several logins with bank-ID, which has led to around 300,000 kronor disappearing from her account.
