Under the night into Wednesday, another fire occurred in an abandoned house in Garpenberg. It is the fourth fire this spring and, once again, an investigation into arson has been initiated.

The police are now working intensively with the investigations and will simultaneously strengthen the local presence in the area to create increased visibility and safety in the area.

– We are taking these events very seriously. Now we are strengthening our presence in Garpenberg at the same time as the investigation work continues with full force. We are dependent on the public's help and would like to get all observations, even those that may be perceived as small details, said Magnus Sjödén, deputy local police district chief in Falun.

It may concern people or vehicles that have been seen near the fire sites before, during or after. Even other details and observations that may seem insignificant at first but can be an important puzzle piece in the police's work.

The police also assess that there are people who may be sitting on information about who or who may be behind the fires. We want to emphasize the importance of that information coming to the police's knowledge.

We urge those who have seen or heard something that may be connected to the fires to contact the police via 114 14. State that the tip concerns the arson in Garpenberg.
