Summary of Valborgsnatten in Östersund
Like last year, there was a very high intoxication rate among people under 18 in Östersund. Many young people were out, but also more adults from our partner organizations (social services, recreation leaders, night walkers, police volunteers, etc.) which has facilitated the police's work.
No serious violent crimes have occurred, but some minor assault cases have been handled. Much trouble has been able to be averted early on with the help of drones, camera surveillance, and many police officers in Östersund.
Several accidents have occurred involving electric scooters, one of which resulted in a youth being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Fifteen young people were taken into custody according to LOB and handed over to social services or guardians. Many young people have been driven home and patrols have called many guardians who have come to pick up their children.
