According to initial reports, a person, a pedestrian, in central Kiruna has been struck by a driver who left the scene.

The police have located and held a hearing with the driver, who is suspected of hit-and-run in a traffic accident and causing bodily harm.

The pedestrian was awake and able to speak and was taken to medical care for examination.
