The police regional command center has handled approximately 120 cases related to Södermanland County during the night.
From the night there are about 20 cases where people have been taken into custody by the police in various ways. Most cases concern the LOB - the law on the apprehension of intoxicated persons - but in several cases people have been removed from places they were found, and in some cases they have been driven home by patrol.
Here is a selection of the night's events:
Assault, Strängnäs
At 2 am, the police are called to a residence in Strängnäs due to a suspected assault. There are several people present, including a man and a woman who are in a relationship with each other. The man, who is in his 40s, is arrested on suspicion of assault, child welfare offense, and violent resistance against a public official. There are no reports of anyone needing ambulance care.
Violation of contact ban, Katrineholm
At 10:30 pm, the police are called to a residence in Katrineholm where a man who has a contact ban against a person at the address has been seen. The person subject to the contact ban is a man in his 50s. The man is found by patrol near the address. The man is arrested, suspected of violating a contact ban, knife law offense, and minor drug use and possession.
Drug offense, Nyköping
At 11 pm, a police patrol is supposed to check on a young man in Nyköping's city center. The man then chooses to run away from the patrol, and the patrol chases and takes the man to the police station. The man, who is in his upper teens, is suspected of minor drug offense, personal use, and the child's guardian is contacted.
