From the night there are around 30 cases where people have been taken into custody by the police in various ways. 20 of these have occurred in Linköping municipality.  Most cases involve LOB – the law on the apprehension of intoxicated persons – but in several cases people have been removed from places they were found, and in some cases they have been driven home by patrol. 

Here is a selection of the night's cases: 

Assault, Linköping
At 00.02, police are called to the inner city of Linköping where a security guard has noticed a fight. Two men, aged 20 and 35, are suspected of assault on each other. Another man, aged 20, is believed to have been involved in the fight in some way and received a blow. The 35-year-old man is taken into custody according to LOB.  

Fire, Norrköping
At 01.00, the police are alerted to a fire at Tingstad in Norrköping. It is said to be several piles of burning material near buildings. The fire department is checking the fire. The police have filed a report on reckless behavior through fire. No one has been suspected of a crime.

Assault, Finspång
At 01.16, the police are alerted to Finspång due to a suspected assault. A man in his upper teens is said to have been beaten and kicked by one or more unknown perpetrators outdoors in the Svälthagen area. The police are filing a report on assault. An ambulance has been on the scene to check on the man. There are no reports that the man needed hospital treatment.

Drunk driving, Finspång
At 01.39, the police are alerted to länsväg 1173 in Finspång due to a single-car accident. A person's car has veered off the road for unknown reasons near Vistingekorset. The driver is a 20-year-old man who was alone in the car and is said not to have suffered any serious injuries. The driver is suspected of drunk driving.

Assault, Motala
At 04.30, the police are alerted to a residence in Motala due to a suspected fight in an apartment. On the scene, several people are found in the apartment, including a man and a woman. The man, aged 60, is arrested on suspicion of assault and illegal threats. The man and woman are acquaintances who have known each other before.
