Threats are being directed at a high school in Onsala via social media.
Due to the threat, the police decided on supervision of the school, as well as establishing dialogue with school management and the municipality. The school has since chosen to remain closed on Monday.
The police authority handles and assesses recurring threats directed at schools. In many of these cases, we can quickly dismiss the threats as there is no risk of implementation. In some cases, we cannot as easily rule out the intention to carry out the threat, and we then take the measures we consider necessary.
Following the threat, the police have initiated an investigation regarding unlawful threats against a group. Work is ongoing to identify the perpetrator.
Update 260331
A suspected person has been identified in the matter. The suspect was initially apprehended in absentia, but was subsequently detained around lunchtime on Tuesday. We are actively working further in the investigation and cannot currently comment on several details in the investigation.
