Summary of last night's events.
Police have handled over 140 cases in Jönköping County between 22:00 and 07:00. About 30 of these are related to fireworks and explosions. No serious injuries or major fires have been caused by these during the night, but a number of fires in containers, trash cans, and similar have been reported, suspected to be caused by firework devices. No one has been given suspicion of crime in connection with these fires. The police have been engaged in a lot of security-enhancing activities and have been visible at crowded locations. About 20 cases are related to intoxication, and the police have taken in a number of people according to LOB, and have also sent minors home to their guardians.
00:29 A girl in her 18th year is hit by a car in Nässjö and is taken to hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are not known at present and she has not been questioned. The driver of the car has been heard, as have witnesses to the accident. No one has been given suspicion of crime, but the investigation will show what happened and if anyone is guilty of traffic offenses.
00:40 A person reports that there has been a break-in at his home in Eksjö during the evening. There are clear signs of the perpetrator who entered through the attic door and rummaged around the apartment. The police have been on the scene for a crime scene investigation. There are no reports of what was taken, and a report of theft by break-in has been filed.
01:34 A youth under 18 claims to have been assaulted by 10-15 people at Råslätt in Jönköping. He also claims that the perpetrators tried to take his phone, and threatened him with a weapon-like object. He is taken to hospital but is not seriously injured.
