Last week, two thefts from construction sites have occurred in Gislaved.

Theft goods have a large value and amount to several hundred thousand kronor. Break-ins on construction sites often occur by perpetrators tearing apart locks on containers, or entering in other ways, and then stealing expensive tools and machines. Often, surveillance cameras and lighting are initially destroyed to avoid detection.

The police want to prevent further crimes by urging the public to be aware of who is moving around construction sites. The police also want to urge companies operating construction sites to consider security and lock valuable equipment in as secure a way as possible.

If you are affected, it is also important to leave the crime scene as undisturbed as possible so that the police can work with evidence securing.

Anyone who sees something that can be linked to the thefts is urged to call 11414. If the situation is urgent or a ongoing crime is witnessed, one should call 112.
