In connection with personal from home care visiting an elderly person (the user) the staff saw that there were two people outside. When the staff met the user, he was holding valuable items in his hand and was about to meet two people outside. The police were alerted and the two people, two teenage boys, can be detained.

This type of scams has escalated. Several constellations of scammers are in operation in Gothenburg at the same time and during the past few weeks the police have been alerted to cases of elderly scams almost daily. The cases have varying modes and at present there are no concrete similarities among the people who visit the elderly.

The police urge above all neighbors to be vigilant about what is happening in the surroundings and contact us if something is unusual. Tip us on 114 14, call 112 if it is urgent.
