The regional police headquarters has handled between 22.00-07.00 a number of 30 cases related to Södermanland County. The case that stands out: 

02:10 A police patrol has stopped a car on Västerleden in Eskilstuna for a check. When the driver got out of the car, he had a sharp object in his hand and acted threateningly towards the police. Due to this, the police patrol fired warning shots to get the situation under control. The police also used a stun gun and OC spray as the man made strong resistance. The man, in his 50s, is arrested suspected of grossly threatening a public official, minor narcotics offense for personal use, and driving under the influence. Neither the suspected man nor the police patrol suffered any personal injuries in connection with the incident. 

When the police use their service weapon, an investigation is always initiated, according to routine. This is investigated by the Division for Special Investigations (SU).
