Lycksele, current case where a woman was attacked by a bear.
At 22 o'clock on Friday, the police were contacted due to a woman who had been injured and came to the hospital. She had, in connection with berry picking, been attacked by a bear in the forest.
The woman had been helped by people in the area to get to the hospital, she was reported to be awake and able to speak.
According to reports, the incident occurred between Norrbyberg and Gravmark, a few miles northwest of Lycksele.
The police decided to put the bear down. Bear hunters with predator expertise were called out. However, no bear was found. No further search operation is planned, as it may be difficult to find the right bear.
Over the weekend, the police's work on the case continued. It will also be investigated whether the woman was on duty and working when she was attacked. The police are therefore handling the incident as a workplace accident as well.
