A fraudster has obtained jewelry and other valuables by claiming to represent a bank, an insurance company and the police.

The victim of the crime received a text message from a transport company regarding a delivery. They said they needed to get in touch with him. The victim called the number. The person who answered said that his BankID had been copied and that he had lost a large sum of money. The fraudster said he would be connected to the police, and then to the bank, which was trying to stop the transaction.

The fraudster said that the victim was at risk of being burgled and that they would therefore come to his home and take care of his valuables.

The victim also received a text message from someone claiming to be his son, saying it was important that he let the person who was coming to collect the valuables in.

A man came and collected the valuables, then left the home. Their value is estimated at between 50,000 and 100,000 kronor.

The police were contacted and went to the home, searched for the perpetrator and positioned police patrols at strategic locations, but did not find any suspects. The police opened a preliminary investigation into aggravated fraud, with the perpetrator unknown.
