Reports came in about an 80-year-old man being targeted by a scam. The man initially received an SMS from someone claiming to be from a petrol station chain, and was then tricked into handing over gold worth an unknown value to a person who arrived at the location.

The police were dispatched and a report of aggravated fraud was filed.

The police want to remind people never to hand over sensitive information to an unknown person, or hand over valuable items.
