komvux

Municipal adult education, for adults who want to complete or add to their schooling. It offers courses at the level of compulsory school and upper secondary school, vocational programmes and SFI, and you can study full time, part time or at a distance.

Komvux is free, though you may have to buy some materials. You apply through your municipality, and many people use it after SFI to continue with Swedish as a second language, to get the grades needed for university, or to train for a job.

You can often get CSN student finance for komvux at compulsory or upper secondary level, unlike SFI. You can also have earlier knowledge assessed through validation.
