We are looking for a technically strong Design Engineer with previous R&D experience within a leading heavy-vehicle OEM environment and hands-on expertise in one or more of the following areas: sheet metal design, plastic components, pneumatic systems, and component installation.

About the Role

You will contribute to the mechanical design and integration of components and systems within BEV chassis platforms. Working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders, you will develop practical design solutions that meet packaging, interface, installation, manufacturing, and functional requirements.

Experience in at least one of the specified technical areas is essential. Candidates with expertise across two or more areas will be particularly relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and installation solutions for BEV chassis integration.

  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
  • Manage component packaging, interfaces, tolerances, and installation requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development process.
  • Participate in design reviews, validation activities, and technical investigations.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and provide production support when required.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional design engineering experience.
  • Mandatory: Previous R&D experience within a leading heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer or its group.
  • Strong hands-on competence in one or more of the following:
  • Sheet metal design, brackets, and installation solutions.
  • Plastic components and installation design.
  • Pneumatic components and installation systems.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5, including 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
  • Experience with tolerance analysis.
  • Good understanding of component packaging, interfaces, and installation requirements.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability, particularly for sheet metal, plastic, and/or pneumatic components.
  • Good command of English.

Highly Valued Experience

  • Previous chassis design and integration experience within heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Experience working on BEV platforms and electrified vehicle architecture.
  • Expertise across multiple technical areas, such as sheet metal, plastics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of independently driving design activities.
  • Practical and solution-oriented approach to engineering challenges.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and contribute to team development.
