Preschool Teacher with Montessori Training and English as Their Mother Tongue

BMSL is a multilingual preschool and primary school, with teaching based on the Swedish curriculum. From the age of one until Year 9, our pupils pass through the same entrance here in central Lund. This provides security and continuity for pupils, teachers and parents alike. Perhaps this explains why many pupils see the school as their second home. Wellbeing and a sense of community are important to us. We want to be the school pupils look forward to coming to. A place for explorers, researchers and independent thinkers. For several years, our simple philosophy has helped us achieve some of the best academic results in Sweden, and we also have pupils who dare to be themselves.
Today, there are 44 children in the preschool, divided between three groups, and 420 pupils in the F-9 primary school. Our teachers and children/pupils come from different countries and diverse cultures. BMSL is a highly stimulating and dynamic workplace. In our setting, children encounter English, French and Swedish from the time they start preschool until they leave primary school.
We are now looking for a qualified preschool teacher with a teaching licence to join our lovely preschool. This is a permanent, full-time position, and you will work with our older children in the Panda/Tiger group alongside colleagues who are highly motivated, have deep pedagogical expertise and care greatly about the children’s best interests. You are thoroughly familiar with the preschool curriculum and work to promote the development and learning of every child. Together with the team, you will be responsible for planning, leading, organising and evaluating teaching, to advance the education based on the children’s interests and curiosity. You can build and develop trusting relationships, engagement and a sense of security among children, guardians and colleagues.
Applicants are welcome to have Montessori training for ages 1-6 and experience of Montessori pedagogy. Another part of our profile is the language immersion method, so we are looking for an educator with a good command of English. In other words, you should be fluent in your daily teaching with the children.
As a person, you are calm, confident and attentive, and have excellent co-operation skills with your colleagues, including across groups, as we work closely together. As a qualified preschool teacher with a teaching licence, you should be passionate about your profession and keen to develop yourself, your work with colleagues and, as a result, the education we provide. Commitment, humility and professionalism underpin your excellent work. You are organised and have good communication and co-operation skills. Being flexible, taking a solution-focused approach, and using joy and laughter as your driving force are second nature to you as you help create a positive working environment.
As we are a multilingual preschool, we also expect you to feel confident speaking and writing in English and Swedish.
