About the role
Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced senior project manager for a large-scale IT system implementation in railway and vehicle management in Stockholm.
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Would you like to lead a complex digitalisation project that contributes to more efficient management, operation and maintenance of railway vehicles? You will have overall responsibility for driving a new vehicle management system from planning and implementation through to testing, rollout and handover to the management organisation.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in IT project management, business systems and change management, who is used to coordinating project teams and many external stakeholders.

🎯 About the assignment
You will be the lead project manager for the implementation of a new vehicle management system to replace an existing vehicle data system. The project covers needs analyses, proposed solutions, implementation, testing and a gradual rollout to different user organisations.
The project organisation comprises approximately 20 people, including sub-projects and assistant project managers, and involves several external stakeholders such as vehicle owners, lessees, operators and maintenance providers.
Your main responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the entire IT project, with overall responsibility for implementation and delivery.
Ensure that the project’s scope, schedule, finances and resource planning are monitored.
Lead the project organisation and coordinate sub-projects, project members and external partners.
Drive implementation, testing and preparations for the rollout of the new vehicle management system.
Coordinate business requirements, technical solutions and the needs of different user organisations.
Manage risks, dependencies, decision-making materials and deviations throughout the project.
Ensure clear communication between project management, the business, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Lead the change process relating to new processes, ways of working and user roles.
Plan and carry out the project close and handover of the system to the permanent management organisation.
Skills & requirements
✅ Mandatory qualifications
At least 8 years’ documented experience of independently managing IT projects, with overall responsibility for deliveries, schedules, finances and resources.
Documented experience of leading at least three business system implementation projects.
Experience of leading at least one project with a project organisation comprising at least 10 project participants.
Documented experience of closing and handing over at least one IT project from a project organisation to a management organisation.
Basic knowledge of railway vehicles, their technical systems, and vehicle-related operation, maintenance and management, acquired through relevant education or work experience.
Documented experience of leading projects involving several external stakeholders and organisations, such as customers, suppliers, operators and technical specialists.
⭐ Desirable experience
Project management in the railway sector, railway vehicles or other technically complex and asset-intensive operations.
Experience in Asset Management and the lifecycle management of technical assets with high availability and maintenance requirements.
Practical experience of operating, maintaining or managing railway vehicles.
Experience with IT systems for managing, operating and maintaining railway vehicles or similar technical assets.
Experience of business-focused system implementations involving several organisations and functions.
Documented experience of change management in a leadership role in at least three projects where new or modified IT systems have affected processes, ways of working or roles.
