"I just spoke with Trump. An important conversation, and we discussed a lot. We agreed to meet in New York and this meeting can lead to big change. There is diplomatic momentum," Zelenskyy writes.
Next week, the opening of the UN General Assembly will take place in the city.
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's visit to Kyiv on September 6, the first official visit to Ukraine by the American mediators, forms the basis for the upcoming New York meeting.
Zelenskyy writes that the two carefully went “through the most important details” and that the mediators “got to see the situation in Ukraine with their own eyes.”
“The peace process is our top priority,” he adds.
