Zelenskyy Meets Belgian King and NATO Chief in Brussels, Calls for More Pressure on Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is urging increased pressure on Russia during a visit to Brussels.

"All of us in Europe want this war to end. For that to happen, strong signals are needed: more real pressure on Russia and more defence support for Ukraine," Zelenskyy writes on X after arriving in Belgium.

On Thursday, he met with Belgian King Philippe and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, among others.

"We spoke about the importance of implementing an energy arms embargo and about NATO countries' continued support for Ukraine, including through the Purl initiative," Rutte writes on X.

Purl is a system through which NATO countries buy weapons and ammunition from the United States and pass them on to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy will take part in Friday's session of the ongoing EU summit in Brussels and will also hold individual meetings with some EU leaders, including Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party).
