Russia is said to have launched 597 drones and 26 long-range missiles, according to the Ukrainian air force in a statement. Of these, 319 drones and 25 missiles were shot down.

Now, areas in western Ukraine, which were previously considered relatively safe, are being affected by the Russian attacks. Several explosions were heard in Lviv, Chernivtsi and Lutsk. Four people have died, two in Dnipropetrovsk and two in Chernivtsi. At least 20 people have been injured, including several children, according to The Kyiv Independent.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is urging his allies in the West to send "more than just signals" to stop Russia's offensive war against Ukraine.

Quick decisions on sanctions can limit the pace of Russian air raids, he says in a video.

Zelenskyj is specifically calling for sanctions against those who "help Russia produce drones and make money from oil".

According to Russia's Ministry of Defense, they claim to have shot down 33 Ukrainian drones during the night to Saturday. On Friday, three people are said to have died in a drone attack in Russia.
