President Volodymyr Zelenskyj announced the meeting in a video call to the participants of the defense cooperation JEF's top meeting in Oslo earlier on Friday.
The meeting on Saturday with the British- and French-led "coalition of the willing" – about 30 Western countries that have committed to continued and deepened support to Ukraine – takes place digitally, but four heads of government make a symbolically charged visit to Kyiv.
It involves France's Emmanuel Macron, Germany's Friedrich Merz, Poland's Donald Tusk, and the UK's Keir Starmer.
The visit – where the four countries' leaders visit Ukraine simultaneously for the first time – follows Friday's so-called victory parade in connection with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
"Increase the pressure"
"We, the leaders of France, Germany, Poland, and the UK, will stand in Kyiv in solidarity with Ukraine against Russia's barbaric and illegal full-scale invasion", it says in a joint statement.
The heads of government urge Russia to agree to a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.
The focus of the meeting is the continued support to Ukraine, the talks to end the war, and security arrangements in connection with this, according to a press release from Finland's Presidential Office.
Strengthened partnership
The meeting follows a top meeting hosted by France's President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on March 27.
During Friday's JEF meeting, the ten member countries agreed, among other things, to propose a strengthened military partnership with Ukraine. This could, for example, involve increased cooperation on military exercises and training.
Sweden, the other Nordic countries, the Baltic countries, the Netherlands, and the UK are part of JEF.
