On April 22, several schools in Borlänge were closed, citing a serious threat.
A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of making a serious unlawful threat to a group, but was acquitted two days later. He has now reported the incident to the Chancellor of Justice and is seeking damages of 30,000 kronor, which is about 15 times higher than the norm.
The boy's lawyer, Gökhan Kizil, says the sum is justified because the case received significant media attention and the police published a picture of the boy at an early stage of the incident.
"It is suffering beyond the norm. The incident has reached the public not only in Borlänge but throughout Sweden. It has had a noticeable impact," he tells the newspaper.
