For 40 minutes, Graham Potter shared his thoughts and concerns at a press conference, outlined the plan for the World Cup and offered the occasional piece of news.
He said he had been in contact with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and former England captain Gareth Southgate.
Potter spoke with Zlatan ahead of the playoff matches against Ukraine and Poland.
It was just a conversation. I know how important he is. His position in Swedish football is obvious. I just wanted to have contact with him. It was nice to get a bond with him. He wrote a nice text message after the victory against Poland. I'm sure we will have contact in the future.
Chat with Southgate
Back home in England, Potter also recently took the opportunity to talk about the World Cup and preparations with Southgate.
I've known him for a while. He's someone I have great respect for and a good person to talk to.
But Potter doesn't want to reveal details of their conversation.
It was a nice, private conversation. I bounced some thoughts off him.
Here and now, with the World Cup squad assembled, much of the focus is on assessing the physical condition of the 26-man squad.
There are a number of question marks.
Alexander Isak recently made a comeback in Liverpool after his broken leg last winter but suffered a setback with groin problems.
Carl Starfelt, Taha Ali, Elliot Stroud and Gabriel Gudmundsson are others with injury concerns.
All players come with different match minutes and workloads; we have to make an evaluation.
Sees Isak in several roles
Potter sees Isak in several different roles during the tournament.
He can play next to Viktor (Gyökeres), he can drop deep, he can go wide. He is such a good player you can leave him a little free; we want to get the best out of "Alex".
Center back Carl Starfelt has also missed large parts of the spring season due to a back injury.
Carl is a little further away than Gabriel (Gudmundsson), who has played more. We can build Carl up; everyone is happy about his progress.
However, he hopes to see both Ali and Stroud in training soon.
Sweden meets Norway in Oslo on Monday and then Greece at home at the national arena in Solna three days later, before World Cup preparations continue in Dallas.
Viktor Gyökeres will play in the Champions League final on Saturday when his Arsenal team meets Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest. He is not available for any of the international matches before the World Cup.
Potter said he will join the squad well in advance of the team's departure.
"He's in a unique situation. It's important that he finishes everything with Arsenal. I'm pretty relaxed about him," Potter said.
