A 65-year-old woman has died after being struck by lightning in Gørlev on West Zealand, the police report.
The alarm about the incident came on Friday afternoon.
She had been sitting under a tree, and it was probably the tree that was hit by the lightning, says Emil Grønning, police chief at Mid and West Zealand police.
A person in the vicinity had heard two loud bangs and later gone to the tree, which was charred, and the woman was found.
According to the Danish weather agency DMI, six lightning strikes were recorded in the Kalundborg area around 2 pm on Friday.
