Despite the alarms, it took an hour and a half before staff discovered the woman on the floor after she fell and hit her head. She was taken to hospital, but died shortly afterwards.
The municipality's investigation found that staff deliberately turned off the alarms remotely without visiting the woman, which the investigation describes as a "systematic rejection" of alarms.
Tidaholm Municipality is taking the incident, which is still under investigation, seriously.
"It arouses strong emotions and is unacceptable," says social manager Eric Linde to P4 Skaraborg.
The municipality has filed a report with the Health and Social Care Inspectorate, and the hospital has also reported the incident to the police.
