The woman in Södertälje who was severely assaulted over the weekend has died from her injuries. Two men are suspected of murder.
I can confirm that she was alive when the ambulance found her and died later at the hospital, says prosecutor Anton Tunving, who is leading the investigation to Länstidningen Södertälje.
The police were alerted to the incident on Saturday afternoon by hospital staff.
The woman had been picked up by ambulance earlier in the day. After being examined at the hospital, suspicions arose that she had been the victim of a crime.
The suspected crime is believed to have taken place in a residence in Södertälje, and the two men were arrested there. They have a relationship with the woman, according to the police.
The men are being held, suspected of murder.
