A wolf has been shot in the Söderåsen territory in Svalöv municipality. The animal was killed on Friday and no suspicion of crime exists, writes the County Administrative Board in Skåne.
The authority's wildlife manager has been on site and examined the wolf, the shooting location, and the dogs' GPS positions during the hunt.
The assessment is that the wolf was chasing the dogs and that the hunters acted in accordance with the hunting regulations' right to protect hunting dogs and domestic animals, even from protected predators.
The shot wolf is a female and will be sent to the National Veterinary Institute for analysis.
