So far this year, 74 deaths related to malnutrition have been registered in Gaza, according to WHO. 63 of them occurred alone in July.
"Most of these people were declared dead on arrival at healthcare facilities or died shortly thereafter, their bodies showed clear signs of severe malnutrition", WHO writes in a statement.
Of the dead, 24 were children under five years and one was a child over five years. Almost one in five children in Gaza are now suffering from acute malnutrition.
"This crisis could have been prevented. Deliberately blocking and delaying large-scale aid shipments with food, healthcare and humanitarian aid has cost many lives", WHO writes.
On May 26, Israel's more than two-month-long total blockade of goods into Gaza ended.
