The proposal is part of the main messages that Magdalena Andersson highlights in her Christmas speech at Vallby Friluftsmuseum in Västerås on Sunday.
It is the current situation, where the Swedish people, according to Andersson, "are currently going through the worst cost crisis in many decades" that has led S to present the proposal.
Magdalena Andersson emphasizes the responsibility that food retailers have in their pricing and means that companies have become "creative" in their way of continuing to raise prices.
An example is the so-called "shrinkflation", when the content quantity is reduced without the price being lowered, such as in a coffee package or a diaper package.
We want to stop the possibility of the trickery that is happening today, says Magdalena Andersson.
Wants to strengthen welfare
In addition to the ban, Magdalena Andersson highlights classic social democracy in her Christmas speech, with three other "decisive" areas to "build a Sweden that holds together".
It's about strengthening welfare with schools, healthcare, and elderly care at the forefront, as well as combating segregation.
In Sweden, it is the Swedish people's needs that should come first, not the shareholders', she says, among other things, in the speech.
The fight against gang crime was also brought up - not least to strengthen community in the rest of society.
Support to war-affected
Furthermore, Andersson takes the opportunity to highlight the situation for the war-affected in Ukraine and Gaza. As well as the ICC's arrest warrant against Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and the terrorist-labeled Hamas military leader Mohammed Dayf.
International law should apply everywhere. It also applies to the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against Netanyahu and Hamas leaders.
