Wants in on Uefa's board - via quota seat

Two years ago, Norway's football president Lise Klaveness was denied a seat on the European Football Association's (Uefa) board. Now she's making a new attempt, but unlike before, the Norwegian is running for one of the two seats reserved for women.

When Lise Klaveness in Lisbon almost two years ago applied for a seat on Uefa's executive committee, it was for an ordinary mandate in competition with male association presidents in a vote.

We from the women's side are not indifferent to the fact that in international football history, there have been zero female presidents in the executive committee, said Klaveness to TT before the vote then.

Then, Klaveness was never close to being elected – only one candidate received fewer votes than the Norwegian, according to the news agency NTB. Now, the 43-year-old is making a new attempt, but she chooses to apply for one of the two board seats reserved for women.

The election takes place at the Uefa Congress in Serbian Belgrade on April 3.
