Wall Street opens slightly lower amid fragile ceasefire concerns and rising oil prices

Shortly after the open, the Dow Jones industrial average is down 0.3 percent, while the broad S&P 500 is down 0.1 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index is hovering around zero.

The euphoria that characterized the world's stock markets in the wake of the ceasefire between the US and Iran has seemingly subsided. The parties have not been able to agree on whether Lebanon, where Israel carried out deadly attacks on Wednesday that left hundreds dead, should be included in the ceasefire. This is despite Pakistan, the mediator, saying the agreement also includes Lebanon.

Oil prices have risen after previous lows; at 3:30 p.m., a barrel of North Sea oil costs about $98.
