The stock market mood seems to vary on the Asian stock exchanges during morning trading.
In Tokyo, both the Nikkei 225 and Topix are down, by 0.9 and 0.8 percent respectively. Among them, major bank Mizuho is down just over 7 percent after uncertainty about its investments in e-commerce giant Rakuten, according to CNBC.
The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng has had an even worse morning and is down 1.6 percent at lunchtime.
The Kospi in Seoul, South Korea, on the other hand, had a relatively good trading day, rising 1.1 percent. The stock exchanges in Shenzhen and Shanghai, China, also rose slightly; both were up about 0.1 percent.
At the same time, the price of crude oil is rising again. Both WTI and North Sea oil, for June and July respectively, are up around 2 percent.
